Q. How many computers can I put MasterWriter on?
A. Whether you purchase or license MasterWriter, you can activate the program on 2
computers.
Q. How do I move my activation from one computer to another?
A. MasterWriter has a Release Activation command under the File menu. Choosing
this will de-activate the program, and allow you to re-use that activation at a later date
on another computer. Note that this feature should also be used if you're going to
upgrade your operating system, reformat, change hard drives, etc.
Q. What if I have a computer crash, stolen computer, or simply forget to Release my
Activation?
A. This will require that you contact MasterWriter and we will be happy to adjust your
account accordingly as long as requests are not excessive.
Q. What is the difference between the songwriter and creative writer version of
MasterWriter?
A. The differences are minimal and mainly to do with order of the tools and the names
of the modules and tabs. The only substantial difference is that Songuard, our online,
date-of-creation song registration service is not included in the creative writer version
Outside of that, the content and tools in the two programs are identical. There would
be no reason for a user to own both.
Q. Can I run MasterWriter on a computer that is not on the Internet?
A. Yes, you will need to perform an offline activation which will require that you access
another computer that is online or that you contact MasterWriter tech support
Q. How much is Songuard per year?
A. Songuard is free for the 1st year you own MasterWriter,to renew is at a cost of $30
per year. You can send up to 200 submissions per year.
Q. How can I get Help for MasterWriter?
A. There are video tutorials for every tool and page in MasterWriter. These can be
accessed under the Product tab on our web site or can be accessed directly from within
the program. To access our tutorials page from within MasterWriter, go to the Help
menu and choose Help for MasterWriter. You will also notice that there is a "?" icon in
the upper right hand corner of the interface, clicking this icon will take you to the help
tutorial page that you are on. Any additional questions can be submitted to
support@masterwriter.com.
Q. Can I export my audio recordings out of MasterWriter?
A. Yes, simply select the recording on the audio page, then select Export Audio under
the Audio menu. By default, your audio file will be exported as an MP3; however, you
can change the file type and format under the Audio menu as well.
